STREAMSIDE

STREAMSIDE is located in a quiet City neighbourhood where a street ends in a green space, and a stream and hiking trails meander through the ravine. The original house was built in 1954 as a low-pitched simple post and beam form set towards the back of the lot. A front addition was designed in keeping with the character and simplicity of the mid-century era, with vaulted ceilings in the main living spaces and an open concept plan. A ground level secondary suite was provided with a separate entrance and garden patio. Original cedar siding was salvaged and re-used, reclaimed timber beams were used to create the new roof structure, and salvaged beams were milled into stairs for the back deck.
